Has a friend ever briefly mentioned the Whole30 diet? Is this your first time ever hearing about it? We are here to give you the rundown of what Whole30 is and how you can do it!
The Whole30 diet is designed to help rid the body of any food that are grains, legumes, anything that contains carrageenan, MSG, soy, and sulfites in order to flush the body.
The goal is to see how your body responds to food by first removing them from your diet for 30 days. After the 30 days are done, one can start including these foods and might start to see what foods have been the cause for an upset stomach.
Now we can start to look at what foods are allowed in the program and which are not. We found all of these tips on Whole30's official page.
Do's
Meat, eggs, seafood, fruits, vegetables, natural fats, spices, herbs, and seasonings. You are able to eat foods that are simple and light on ingredients. Unprocessed food is the key to the Whole30 diet.
Don'ts
- Added sugar, artificial or real is a big no-no. If there is any added sugar on the ingredient label than it is out.
- No alcoholic drinks, not even in the form of cooking.
-No grains. This eliminates added wheat, corn, rice, and any form of starch. Make sure you are checking the ingredient label on all products
-No legumes. This means any kind of beans, peanut butter included. Say goodbye to soy sauce, edamame, and soy lecithin for the next 30 days! We promise it's for the betterment of your body.
- No dairy. Any kind of cow, goat, or sheep's milk products.
-No carrageenan, MSG, or sulfites.
- No baked goods, or junk food.
The last don't that is included in the Whole30 diet does not eliminate a certain food from your diet but elimiates weighing or measuring yourself. The Whole30 diet is so much more than weight loss.
